Bomanite Exposed Aggregate Systems

Chapman High School and Elementary School

Bomanite Licensee, Musselman & Hall installed Bomanite Exposed System Alloy at the entrances to the High School and Elementary school for the Chapman Unified School District. Musselman & Hall worked with the architects and project designer BBN who wanted a Sandscape finish with sparkle for the newly rebuilt schools that were destroyed by a tornado in 2008. Bowman Bowman Novick were instrumental in providing many sustainable features incorporated for optimal energy efficiency and decreased maintenance. The Bomanite Chargreen Color Hardnener chosen for the entrances matches the school’s colors. The area around the flag pole in front of the Elementary School is also done in the same Bomanite Alloy Exposed System.

Bomanite Alloy Exposed System is a unique alternate to other decorative concrete finishes, producing a monolithic concrete slab with a low life cycle cost due to the pre-aged nature of the surface. Bomanite Alloy is suited for exterior applications— anywhere that improved wear resistance for light- to moderate-duty vehicular or foot traffic combined with an architectural finish is necessary. Due to the use of Bomanite Color Hardener, these highly durable surfaces are available in a multitude of standard and custom options, including cost effective light-reflective formulations that may not require the use of white cement to reduce heat island effect.
