Bomanite April Newsletter 2020

The City and County of Denver needed to make improvements to the existing 38th & Holly Detention Pond. During small and larger storm events, water was collecting in Holly Street at depths up to approximately 1.5 feet. The water would then overflow the pond embankment along Holly Street to enter the pond and caused severe erosion to the embankment, meanwhile creating on-going maintenance concerns and repairs.

In order to mitigate the issues, prevent future erosion and provide storm water management, the City and County of Denver moved forward with plans to significantly re-landscape the detention pond along with planting trees for pedestrian shade…READ MORE

The Westchester Country Club is an exclusive family-oriented Club located in Rye, New York which is a short distance from Manhattan. The Westchester Country Club has been ranked 12th of 4,000 private Clubs in the United States and maintains its status as a “Platinum Club.” Among the amenities is the 62-acre Beach Club with a notable aquatics area. The homeowners of this large backyard lot recognized the possibilities that could provide them with outdoor spaces for dining, entertaining, and relaxing using multiple Bomanite Concrete Systems throughout this welcoming resort like space. Bomanite Licensee, Concrete Arts, Inc. being the homeowner, wanted a place for his family that showed the creativity and beauty of concrete and its endless possibilities. Working with Landscape designer Mark Huri early on helped with the transformation. GREAT WOLF LODGE MINNESOTA CREATES MAGIC WITH BOMANITE THIN-SET OVERLAY

The Great Wolf Lodge opened one of their latest resorts in Bloomington, MN. The Gensler Architect team was hired for the renovation project. With one of a kind entertainment options, Bomanite Licensee, Bulach Custom Rock (known for their work on themed projects) was able to provide 5,000 square feet of the specified flooring that matched the outdoor adventure theme. Built by Coloradans, for Coloradans. The Coloradan, a mixed-use luxury condominium development at Denver Union Station sits in a prime location. It offers a place for residents to live, work, and play.  The layout of the outdoor spaces reflects the idea that the Coloradan is built for people who enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle but do not want to give up the quality of urban living. The project features restaurants and retail at the ground floor as well as three amenity decks for the residents. Landscape Architect, Dig Studio designed the ground level streetscape to integrate and enhance the existing rail terminal. The 5th-floor amenity deck serves private terraces as well as a community garden, which features a harvest table, sink, and serving area alongside an orchard of fruit bearing trees. Bomanite Licensee Harrington Bomanite Corp. located in Massachusetts received the Bomanite Outstanding Project Grand Award as well as the Best Imprint Systems Gold Award for their winning ideas at the Castaway Island – Canobie Lake Park. The Tidal River project addition of 45,000 sq. ft. was completed with the Bomanite Imprint systems with over 9 color hardeners, 4 Release Agents and 4 different patterns. The detail and work showcased vast talent and design to be able to incorporate a drainage system in the 2 plus acre site that satisfied state and local environmental concerns. The meandering brook concept of stamped concrete stole the show….
