Bomanite Licensed Contractor, Carolina Bomanite Corp gave this pool house project a custom “slate” look. By using the existing concrete slab as the plaette, Carolina Bomanite was able to apply the Bomanite Patene Artectura System by starting with a “base” of Bomanite Chemical Stain – Pine. Hand installations of several stain colors were applied using several application methods of spraying, brushing, misting and ragging to resemble a “hand” glazed slate tile pattern. A finish diluted overspray of Bomanite Chemical Stain Caribbean Blue tops off this 2-day stain installation. Sawcutting the existing surface into 2’ x 2’ squares on a diagnol led way for ‘Stone” colored Grout to be applied for that “hand laid” look. After cleaning, the surface was sealed with an application of Bomanite Hydrocoat followed by Bomanite Floor Finish.

The homeowner wanted to truly bring the outdoors in and create the look and feel of a beach and lake in his mountain retreat. Bomanite Licensee, Heritage Bomanite worked with the homeowner to develop the design and bring out the bright colors of water and sand. Bomanite Micro-Top in White was chosen as the base surface and then stained with Bomanite Con-Color. Several colors were used to get the vibrant blues and greens that represent the water element. To create the letters and compass, stencils were used, color applied, edges and joints were hand cut and grouted and sealed.
Residential homeowner, Vince Ginn contacted Bomanite Licensed Contractor, Concrete Arts to get ideas for his patio and sidewalk in Hudson, WI. He visited their showroom and immediately fell in love with a pebbled stream that flows through their parking lot. Tom Graf, owner of Concrete Arts worked with the client to create a custom look using pebbles at the entrance of his home. To compliment the pebbles, a Bomanite Exposed Aggregate look was used, Revealed by Bomanite.
No color was added to the Sidewalk and Patio finish. Just a white base cement with a Salt and Pepper aggregate was used. Tom suggested keeping the River view side of the home a simple revealed look while creating a “wow” factor to the road side. They decided to integrate Mexican Beach Pebbles in a diamond shape.
Concrete Arts poured the front walk way. To get the diamond shape they cut the specific dimensions into a piece of plywood and marked out the areas with a string line. Next, they hand placed the pebbles into the concrete following the marked areas. To press in the pebbles, they used the plywood to step down on the rocks to the desired depth, creating a unique entrance into the clients home.

Planning for the landscape and pool project at this Castle Pines residence included early meetings at Bomanite Licensed Contractor, Colorado Hardscapes’ Design Center with Courtney McRickard, the landscape designer. Colors, textures, and different applications were discussed, sampled, reviewed all the while keeping the costs of each option in tune with the overall budget.
Final selections included the use of natural stone paving and cast-in-place concrete – both vertical and horizontal. Landscape walls, pool coping, cast-in-place patio stones, and the fireplace hearth all were placed with a Sandscape Texture ® finish, utilizing a specialty integral color, a light buff color, achieved by utilizing titanium dioxide in the concrete mix.
The fireplace hearth was finished by grinding and polishing the concrete to a glass-like finish, making a very smooth hearth and/or bench.
The patio area with the cast-in-place patio stones of varying sizes was cast on a level plane with a sub-surface drainage system designed to quickly move any water away from the house and its foundation. Small Mexican beach pebbles filled the gaps between the patio sections.
The colors and textures of the concrete worked well with both the hard and soft surfaces of the overall landscape theme to create an outstanding project.

Bomanite Imprint Licensee, Stephens and Smith Construction worked with the homeowner to select the overall design, patterns and colors for their patio and pool deck renovation. The homeowners existing concrete and stoops had a spray texture overlay and stenciled brick borders in a pinwheel design. The owners had seen stamped concrete and were interested in changing their deck and giving it a fresh new look.
Stephens and Smith demo’d the existing deck and was able to dispose of all the rubble on site, saving the homeowner in disposal fees. The demo did take a few extra days due to the uneven real brick that was discovered under the overlay. Once all was removed, Stephens and Smith was able to regrade and place the concrete in four pours that had to be transported 160’ to 200’ due to the length of the driveway and expansive 20 acre lot. The concrete was stamped with a Slate Texture and 8” Brick Border for an updated clean and inviting backyard space.
Stephens and Smith Construction provides quality products installed by quality people. With two locations in Nebraska, Stephens and Smith offers a variety of decorative concrete products and systems, and are dedicated to the highest standards of quality and service.

Bulach Custom Rock worked with the owners to choose the best finish for their pool deck and backyard patio area. The residential project consisted of a pool deck, gazebo pad multiple patio areas and a large set of steps formed in the hill, with a slight curve leading down to the pool deck that received a bull nose finish.
Over 2,400 square feet of Sand and Desert Tan Bomanite Color Hardener and a Bomacron Slate Texture were installed to provide durability, excellent wear resistance and fade resistance. Bomanite Color Hardener is the most effective coloring method to achieve your desired results in the installation of Bomanite and Bomacron Imprinted concrete surfaces.

The Owners of this private residence worked with Bomanite Licensee, Bulach Custom Rock on a custom design for their driveway. The driveway was poured with a Bomanite Integral color of French Gray. Bulach Custom Rock then threw Bomanite Natural Gray Color Hardener on the body of the driveway, which was stamped with the Bomacron Slate Texture. Bomanite Cobblestone Gray was used for the colored bands that were installed around the perimeter of the drive as well as across the drive at the halfway mark.
At the top of the driveway, a curved border was placed to give the landing area a patio feel. This portion was stamped with the Bomacron Ashlar Slate pattern, using the French Gray Bomanite Integral Color, and finished off with a multi-color seal for each individual block within the Ashlar Slate pattern.

The homeowners of a private residence in Sandy, Utah worked with Bomanite Licensee, Architectural Concrete & Design for their backyard pool and patio hardscape. This outdoor area has a pool deck, waterfall feature, fire pit, several patio spaces and stairs that received a cohesive decorative concrete design using the Bomanite Imprint System with several standout coloring techniques.
The pool deck and upper patio were poured and the concrete colored with Bomanite Coquina Color Hardener and then a sweat textured finish was applied. Once the color hardened concrete was cured, multiple coats of Bomanite Chemical Stain in Pine and Ebony were applied and then to create the grid design, sawcuts were made in a 4′ 6″ pattern. The pool coping and waterfall feature were stained to compliment the rock surround on the waterfall.
The lower patio deck, stairs and fire pit were stamped with the Bomacron Slate Texture mat to provide a simple separation but collective design with the pool deck area. Bomanite Desert Tan Color Hardener and several Bomanite Release Agents in Autumn Brown, Light Brown and Mexican Tile were applied.
The homeowners were thrilled with the overall Bomanite backyard design and how it complimented and integrated with the landscaping of rock walls, creek beds and walking paths.
