With a vast knowledge and years of experience, these Bomanite Craftsmen define decorative concrete. Strong.  Durable.  Artistic.  Creative.  Bomanite Licensees work on anywhere from multimillion-dollar commercial projects to affordable residential housing, new builds, and improvements, and everything in between.

Premier Concrete Construction Modernizes Driveway with Bomanite Decorative Concrete

Bomanite Sandscape Texture and Bomanite Imprint Celtic Braid were installed here to create the decorative concrete driveway for this private residence.Perpetual maintenance of an existing asphalt driveway finally became too much for this homeowner.  The asphalt detracted from the curb appeal of the residence.  The driveway looked old and outdated.  The freezing and snowy Concord, NH, winters meant that maintenance had become a headache and the driveway was not durable.  The homeowner reached out to Bomanite Licensee Premier Concrete Construction LLC for recommendations and guidance.  Premier Concrete Construction recommended Bomanite Exposed Aggregate Systems using Bomanite Sandscape® Texture, and Bomanite Imprint Systems using Concrete Graphics with a Celtic Braid border and decorative sawcuts.  The homeowner also wanted some “sparkle” in the mix of aggregates, so mirror was used to create that effect.  Premier Concrete Construction worked closely with the homeowner and aided them with their color selection.

Stephens and Smith Construction Creates Stunning Stamped Concrete Courtyard

Bomanite Canyon Stone imprinted concrete patio provides beautiful backyard retreat for homeownersOne of the biggest challenges when constructing decorative concrete is meeting the owner’s expectations, but what happens when the homeowner is recently retired from a nearly 50-year career as a concrete contractor?  The expectations are even higher.  That is why Bomanite Licensee Stephens & Smith Construction utilized Bomanite Imprint Systems for their installation of this stunning stamped concrete courtyard area.  This innovative system in the hands of the highly creative and skilled craftsmen at Stephens & Smith translated perfectly into extraordinary architectural concrete paving.

Colorado Hardscapes Earns Award for Monarch Casino Bomanite Decorative Concrete Port Cochere Flooring with Radiant Heating System

Preparing for the winters is a must in Black Hawk Colorado. In wanting to make a safe transition area from the outdoor environment to the indoors is what Monarch Casino Resort & Spa was thinking when it came time for their renovation. After 5 years of construction, the Monarch Casino, opened to the public in November 2020. With the build out managed by PCL Construction, the casino doubled its size to provide expanded amenities to their customers including new luxury hotel space, new restaurants and a world class spa and pool facility. To help welcome their guests, the casino also built a new parking garage with an attached high-end Porte Cochere.

First impressions are everything

Monarch Casino Black Hawk Colorado Built a Luxury Port Cochere with Radiant Heat System installed under a Bomanite Decorative Imprinted Concrete Flooring in a Slate Texture with warm color tones provided by Bomanite Licensee Colorado HardscapesWhat better way to welcome people to the luxury casino than to provide a luxury drop off area. Bomanite Licensee, Colorado Hardscapes was contacted in mid-2018 by PCL Construction to install over 14,000 sq. ft. of decorative concrete in the new Porte Cochere area. Designed by MBA Architecture (One Studio D+A) Bomanite stamped and stained concrete systems were a part of the specification from day one. Working closely with the project’s designer, including providing multiple rounds of concrete sampling and a visit to Colorado Hardscapes’ design center, the architect honed in on two different coordinating colors for the Bomanite Imprinted Concrete System and two colors chosen for an added textural finish of Bomanite Exposed Aggregate System Sandscape Texture. The mix of colors and textures provided specific visual paths to keep cars in specific lanes and to designate curbs and pedestrian friendly areas.

The selected colors and texture of the Bomacron English Sidewalk Slate were picked to enhance the stone veneer and copper covered columns in the area. V cut joints were used throughout all the concrete for the control and decorative joints. A radiant heat system in the concrete keeps the entire area warm and free of snow during the winter months. The Bomanite Sandscape Texture Exposed Aggregate System adds an additional slip resistant benefit.

Every project has its challenges

In this case, the challenge was the snowmelt system. Coordination with the other sub-contractors, specifically the snowmelt subcontractor was a full-time job for the Colorado Hardscapes team. Claiming workspace for decent size daily pours while maintaining slopes and jointing layout took a lot of preplanning and quality control. Pouring 4 different concrete types through the radiant heat system was a forming challenge. In the end with their expertise and craftsmanship Colorado Hardscapes was able to provide a consistent looking concrete installation across the entire area.

Hardscape Satisfaction

After a year of fulfilling the punch list requirements, Colorado Hardscapes was very proud of the final outcome of the Bomanite Decorative Concrete products they installed for the Monarch Casino. The Bomanite Company awarded Colorado Hardscapes the 2020 Best Bomanite Imprint Systems Project Silver Award for creating a comfortable environment for customers with timeless architecture that provides highly detailed precise decorative concrete work for the Monarch Casino Resort & Spa.

Musselman & Hall Creates Hardscape with Bomanite Decorative Concrete for T-Mobile Arena Moon Plaza

The Sprint Center, Kansas City’s home for sports, concerts, family shows, collegiate competitions, tournaments and special events has been open since 2007 and recently known as the T-mobile Center after the merge in 2020 with Sprint Corporation.  Bomanite Licensee, Musselman & Hall Contractors, LLC installed 64,000 square feet of concrete hardscapes during the construction of the arena. A small portion of their work involved The Moon’s Plaza, which you can still see today.

Musselman and Hall created an out of this world landscape for the T-mobile Arena Moon Plaza with Bomanite Imprint Systems and Bomanite Sandscape TextureThe project designer, Chris Doyle, created The Moons as the Percent-for-Art component of the Sprint Arena. In front of the huge glass arena, Mr. Doyle created a plaza with three elliptical gardens, each with a water component. Hanging above each of the gardens is a moon, a circular LED video screen that shows individuals flying across the screen simulating orbiting the arena. Musselman & Hall was brought in by Landscape Architects, BBN Architects to bring the surface to life resembling rock and sand textures. With several samples and discussions on creating the ultimate design, it was decided to go with a combination of the Bomanite Imprint Systems and  Bomanite Exposed Aggregate Systems.

Musselman and Hall created an out of this world landscape for the T-mobile Arena Moon Plaza with Bomanite Imprint Systems and Bomanite Sandscape TextureProviding the ability to accomplish the right amount of detailed hardscape a custom imprint pattern, La Paz Random Stone, created of random rocks was designed to achieve a natural stone look once stamped. The pattern was then colored with Bomanite Black Color Hardener, a coloring agent that delivers increased durability, wear resistance and fade resistance. Along with the imprinted surface Bomanite Sandscape Texture integrally colored in white created elevated bridges and was  woven throughout the surface to provide contrast, movement and flow to the surroundings.

Musselman and Hall created an out of this world landscape for the T-mobile Arena Moon Plaza with Bomanite Imprint Systems and Bomanite Sandscape TextureThe Bomanite Exposed Aggregate line of products and systems have a built-in long-life span as well as the long standing Bomanite Imprint Systems, both known for their robust durability. Colorado Hardscapes Installs Award Winning Bomanite Decorative Concrete Details for The Charles Schwab Conference Center at Ridgegate

Located in Lone Tree, Colorado, the Charles Schwab Lone Tree Campus phase #3 project started coming out of the ground in 2018 with a new 45,000 square foot retail space and 5 story parking structure.  Mortenson Construction contracted with Bomanite Licensee, Colorado Hardscapes to install the specified Bomanite stamped concrete designed for the main entry into the retail and conference building and surrounding drive areas.  Colorado Hardscapes worked with Schwab’s designers and Davis Partnership Architects to select the Bomacron English Sidewalk Slate pattern with natural gray colors.

Colorado Hardscapes Installs Award Winning Bomanite Decorative Concrete Details for The Charles Schwab Conference Center at Ridgegate with a mix of Gray Bomanite Imprinted concrete systems for the field and Bomanite Exposed Aggregate Systems Sandscape Texture for accentuated bands of color.Added to the design was a 17’ wide section walkway of Bomanite Exposed Aggregate System Sandscape Texture that utilizes specialized mix designs, additives and topical treatments that can incorporate unique colored sands or aggregates. The thoroughfare was encapsulated with a 6” perimeter band of broom finished concrete that leads from the sidewalk straight to the conference center’s door.  Detail was taken to match the saw cut joints in the Sandscape installation to the building’s interior flooring tile layout for a continuous flow from the exterior to the interior space.

Colorado Hardscapes Installs Award Winning Bomanite Decorative Concrete Details for The Charles Schwab Conference Center at Ridgegate with Bomanite Imprint Systems in an English Sidewalk Slate Pattern for the Entry Way and surrounding drive areas. The exterior paving showcases a marked handicap parking lot and accommodates a fire lane access where the concrete was poured 7” thick with rebar reinforcement.  In total, 9,625 sq. ft. of Bomanite stamped concrete and 1,740 sq. ft. of Bomanite Sandscape Texture Systems were installed for not only the distinct and stunning design detail but for long-term durability and low maintenance attributes. Using a combination of imprinted concrete and exposed aggregate creates a cohesive and complementary decorative concrete element to the exterior space and design of the building.

Through many discussions with Mortenson, Colorado Hardscapes became their go-to contractor to help with other parts of the project.  Along with the installation of the exterior hardscape, Colorado Hardscapes was contracted to install decorative saw cuts at two parking garage levels and asked to help remedy two board formed walls that when poured (by others) did not pass Mortenson’s standards.

Colorado Hardscapes used the Bomanite Micro-Top ST system to correct a previous poured board formed wall installation and bring them up to code that now accent the exterior finishes on the building and provide a smooth and sleek appearance.Bomanite Topping Systems Micro-Top ST was selected to be the new finish on the walls. Bomanite Micro-Top ST is a two-part, polymer-modified cementitious coating that has excellent adhesion and weather resistance when applied to correctly prepared and primed surfaces.  Colorado Hardscapes’ crews spent many hours grinding and patching the existing walls to get them smooth enough to apply the Bomanite Micro-Top ST.  The two feature walls now accent the exterior finishes on the building and provide a smooth and sleek appearance.

The Bomanite stamped concrete, Bomanite Sandscape Texture, and Bomanite Micro-Top ST turned out beautiful and earned Colorado Hardscapes the 2020 Best Bomanite Toppings Systems Project Silver Award.  Using readily available multiple Bomanite products to provide great solutions for the General Contractor, Architect and client is what makes Colorado Hardscapes an astounding partner for any design project.

Musselman & Hall Contractors Create Custom Stamped Concrete Boardwalk for Branson Missouri Aquarium

The Aquarium at the Boardwalk is one of the latest adventures in Branson, Missouri that focuses on fun for all.  Branson’s developing entertainment complex begins with some features that visitors can expect to enjoy at the Aquarium; more than 250 different animal species, an original 5D submarine adventure to the bottom of the sea, a 24-foot high Kelp Forest climbing structure for kids, stingrays, a beautiful 16-foot view of a coral reef, two mirrored art installations that give the sense of infinite ocean life, lionfish, and more than 7,200 individual sea animals! Visitors will also meet the Aquarium’s characters Aquarius, the wise and helpful Giant Pacific Octopus, and Finn, the adventurous Golden Puffer. Not only will these animals be the first they see on the Boardwalk, Aquarius is represented in numerous ways throughout the experience.

Using the Bomanite Imprint Systems Musselman and Hall Contractors worked with PGAV Destinations in creating a custom Hexagon Boardwalk pattern with Custom Radius Boardwalk boards that snake around the entrance to the Branson Boardwalk Aquarium. This first phase and 21-month build was designed by PGAV Destinations, a leading master planner and designer with major attractions including theme parks, aquariums, museums, zoos, heritage sites, lodging, and branded destinations. Before stepping inside the aquarium, guests are mesmerized by the exterior of the building— Aquarius, a striking 55-foot tall reflective stainless-steel sculpture of a giant Pacific octopus. The 46,000 square-foot home for saltwater species of all kinds, collectively supports an impressive 400,000 gallons of aquatic life. This grand entrance needed a remarkable outdoor paving plan that would accentuate the sculpture and lead visitors to the main park attraction. PGAV Destinations having worked with Bomanite Licensee, Musselman & Hall Contractors, LLC previously on the St. Louis Aquarium project, called upon them again for their decorative concrete expertise.

Using the Bomanite Imprint Systems Musselman and Hall Contractors worked with PGAV Destinations in creating a custom Hexagon Boardwalk pattern with Custom Radius Boardwalk boards that snake around the entrance to the Branson Boardwalk Aquarium.Sam Kroesen, Musselman & Hall Project Manager worked with PGAV Destinations to help develop the best system and products to showcase the architectural specifications for the walkway and entrance to the Aquarium. Reviewing samples and coloring methods to create a realistic looking boardwalk while showcasing the entrance was the goal. The Bomanite Imprint Systems stamped concrete with custom patterns to fit the winding pathway was the material of choice.

Creating a custom unique large hexagon stamp provided dimension and an artisanal element for the field around Aquarius. Leading up to and twisting around the large mirrored octopus was a custom 8’ radiused plank board pattern, creating that beach boardwalk feel. Bomanite Imprint Systems are available in over 400 differing patterns that can resemble real wood, stone or natural textures. Custom stamped concrete patterns are endless and provide the flexibility, strength and durability that other paving materials lack.

Using the Bomanite Imprint Systems Musselman and Hall Contractors worked with PGAV Destinations in creating a custom Hexagon Boardwalk pattern with Custom Radius Boardwalk boards that snake around the entrance to the Branson Boardwalk Aquarium.A total of 18,000 square feet of imprinted concrete custom patterns were installed using Bomanite Autumn Brown Integral Color for the boardwalk path and a 1:1 mix of Bomanite Moccasin Integral Color and Bomanite Sand Integral Color for the Hexagon paving. Initially the clients had chosen a Color Hardener sample, with the need to cut costs and stay within budget, Kroesen was instrumental in solving the dilemma by mixing onsite Integral Colors to match the color selected. A final touch of Mirrored glass was hand broadcast into the boardwalk path to provide sparkle and complement Aquarius.

This thematic installation of Bomanite Decorative Concrete offers versatility in design, long-term durability, low-maintenance, weather-resistant features and environmentally friendly attributes earning Musselman & Hall Contractors the GOLD Award for the Best Bomanite Imprint Systems Project.

Architectural Concrete and Design Installed this Nature Inspired Backyard Deck with Bomanite Decorative Concrete

The homeowners of a private residence in Sandy, Utah worked with Bomanite Licensee, Architectural Concrete & Design for their backyard pool and patio hardscape. This outdoor area has a spacious pool deck, waterfall feature, fire pit, several patio areas and stairs that received a cohesive decorative concrete design using the Bomanite Imprint System with several standout coloring techniques.

Architectural Concrete and Design Installed this Nature Inspired Patio, Pool Deck, Fire Pit and Stairs in a Beautiful Stamped Concrete Slate TextureThe pool deck and upper patio were poured and the concrete colored with Bomanite Coquina Color Hardener and then a sweat textured finish was applied. Once the color hardened concrete was cured, multiple coats of Bomanite Chemical Stain in Pine and Ebony were applied and then to create the grid design, sawcuts were made in a 4′ 6″ pattern. The pool coping and waterfall feature were stained to compliment the rock surround on the waterfall.

Architectural Concrete and Design Installed this Nature Inspired Patio, Pool Deck, Fire Pit and Stairs in a Beautiful Stamped Concrete Slate TextureThe lower patio deck, stairs and fire pit were stamped with the Bomacron Slate Texture mat to provide a simple separation but collective design with the pool deck area. Bomanite Desert Tan Color Hardener and several Bomanite Release Agents in Autumn Brown, Light Brown and Mexican Tile were applied.

Belarde Company Installs Stamped Concrete Bridge for Downtown Bellevue Park Inspiration Playground

The expansion and redesign of Bellevue’s Downtown Park was a long-time vision for civic leaders that has finally come to completion. Bomanite Licensee, Belarde Company installed a variety of stairs, sidewalks, and plazas throughout the 21-acre site as well as a key Bomanite architectural concrete feature in the newly designed Inspiration Playground.

Downtown Bellevue Park Designs Inspiration Playground using Bomanite Decorative Concrete from Belarde Company, Washington forming a Concrete Bridge for the Splash Pad The Bellevue Rotary Club was instrumental in helping to expand the original playground in the Downtown Park to include an innovative play space where kids of all ages and abilities can play and explore at their own pace. With the Design of Carol Henry from Design Concepts, the park is dedicated to fun, imagination and learning, and presents a universally accessible play experience that creates an overall truly Inspiration(al) Playground. The new playground offers interactive features that engage the senses, create inclusiveness and accommodate children of all abilities and their caregivers.

Downtown Bellevue Park Designs Inspiration Playground using Bomanite Decorative Concrete from Belarde Company, Washington forming a Concrete Bridge for the Splash Pad Belarde Company’s expertise lends to a creative small wooden bridge made of stamped concrete. The bridge planks and sides highlight the Bomacron “12” Boardwalk” pattern from the Bomanite Imprint Systems collection.  The installation of a horizontal concrete imprinted surface by itself is fairly straightforward.  However, constructing all the surfaces to replicate wooden planks required special attention to detail. Constructing the bridge required a monolithic horizontal and vertical concrete pour, strip color, imprint and finish process.   Even the ends of the ‘planks’ utilized the Bomanite system.  In addition, the bridge was embedded in the banks of an artificial stream water “Splash Pad” play area. Belarde Company constructed the stream bed using a hand-seeded multi-colored glass and aggregates system on its surface.

Downtown Bellevue Park Designs Inspiration Playground using Bomanite Decorative Concrete from Belarde Company, Washington forming a Concrete Bridge for the Splash Pad The project presented several challenges beyond the multiple surfaces of the bridge that included a very aggressive schedule. The owner, the City of Bellevue, was adamant that the project had to be completed before their annual Fourth of July Celebration which had been held at the Downtown Bellevue Park for over 30 years. Adding to the schedule constraints and to the inherent difficulties of installing various architectural concrete systems, Bellevue recorded its wettest winter ever! The Belarde Company team built a temporary tent structure over the bridge’s work area to adapt to the rain ensuring that a high-quality project would be delivered on time. By working closely with the City of Bellevue and Design Concepts, Belarde Company’s experience, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate, ensured the satisfaction of all parties and more importantly, a unique playground that the children visiting this unique interactive play area in Bellevue can enjoy for years to come.
